Mary C. Valentine, LSA - CEO, Dean

Mary C. Valentine is Founder, CEO, and Dean of Key Access Institute. Mary began her operating room career at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital in the world–renowned Texas Medical Center, and now has over 20 years of clinical experience.

Although she has worked in all surgical specialties, she concentrated on orthopedics, such as sports medicine, total joint replacements, and vascular surgery, including endovascular procedures. Mary started as a Surgical Technologist, continued on to Certified Surgical Assistant, and then became a Licensed Surgical First Assistant.

Throughout her career, she saw the business need for an organization of highly trained Surgical Assistants. She assembled her successful team of Key Surgical Assistants from qualified Surgical Assistants, Registered Nurses, Registered Nurses First Assistants, Physician Assistants, and Nurse Practitioners.

Realizing that the future of health care depends on top-quality education, Mary led the teams that created Key Access Institute.
